For working parents it is important to know that your sons and daughters will be well looked after for the full working day.
Costs relating to After School Care and Holiday Care can be found on our fees page.
Breakfast Club starts at 7:45 am. Mrs Glover creates a calm start to the day as the children enjoy cereal and freshly made toast with a drink of fruit juice or tea. Fresh fruit is also available. The rest of the pupils start to trickle in at 8:15 am before the deluge of arrivals at 8:30 am. An offer of breakfast at school is never turned down as the pupils love this start to the day!
After-school care runs from 3:30 pm to 6:15 pm. Some parents use the facility for siblings whose sisters or brothers are in after-school clubs for an hour. Others make use of it because they work. There is opportunity given to complete homework tasks, to undertake craft activities and to play. Tea is offered at 5pm.
Mrs Driver runs After School Care every day with her band of merry helpers! All staff members will be there until the last child leaves.
Holiday Care
Holiday Club has been developed to extend help to working parents by providing a happy time for Moorfield children through the holidays. This facility is capably and creatively led by Mrs Driver and her team, giving all children from 2 to 11 years a home-from-home experience. It is open from 8am to 4pm; although, if an extended day is required, arrangements can be made to accommodate extra care.
Activities at school range from playing in the garden to cookery, hide and seek around the building to an exciting array of creative projects. Being sprayed with the hose on a very hot day is great fun with lots of friends! Trips out include venues such as Bolton Abbey, Burnsall, Brimham Rocks, Ilkley Park and Kilnsey Trout Farm. Holiday Cub is open during all school holidays except for two weeks over Christmas. It is well attended and much appreciated by parents and children alike.
A quote from one of our parents about Holiday Club:
At Moorfield, the holiday club offers choice of activities, including ambitious and engaging arts & crafts, playing with toys, making plays, playing hide & seek and football. The atmosphere is encouraging and joyful so that the children get excited about being signed up to go to holiday club. I sign up my children for the club as I’m a working mum, and need the cover. But it’s such a bonus that my girls skip with joy on the walk to holiday club. Just as time at home would, Moorfield holiday club recharges their batteries with fun, play and exploration in preparation for another term. It’s the best option I’ve found for holiday cover for working mums, and I’d probably use holiday club even if I didn’t work. My children would be asking to go!
