Drama

Drama is a powerful tool for pupils to develop self-confidence and their acting skills. Starting in Form 2, Moorfield pupils have weekly drama lessons with RSC actor Chris Chilton. Senior 6  also produce a Shakespearean ‘play in a day’; we have enjoyed watching Macbeth and ‘The Tempest’ over the last three years.  Chris Chilton also runs a three-day summer drama school here at Moorfield every year during the last week of August for Moorfield children from Year 3 upwards.

The Lower School nativity is a highlight of the Christmas season and the annual school play enables pupils in the two top classes to take to the stage once again.  The Wind in the Willows, The Wizard of Oz, Cinderella Rockerfella and The Lion King have been staged in recent years.

“Acting is not about being someone different. It’s finding the similarity in what is apparently different, then finding myself in there.”
