15 hour and 30 hour free childcare

The school participates in the Government’s Early Education Funding Scheme where eligible parents receive 15 hours per week (maximum 38 weeks) of free child care for their children aged between 3 and 4 years of age.

With effect from 1st September 2017, the government has introduced a 30 hour per week (maximum 38 weeks) of free childcare entitlement for eligible parents.

The “15 hour entitlement” is open to all parents but the new extension is open to qualifying parents only.

Brief eligibility rules for the 30 hour entitlement are:

  • your child will be aged 3-4 year old
  • both parents must be working  –  or the sole parent is working in a lone parent family
  • each parent earns, on average, a weekly minimum equivalent to 16 hours at National minimum wage
  • each parent must have an annual income of less than £100,000
  • you live in England

In order to access the new funding you must obtain an eligibility code from HMRC
