Learning Support

We pride ourselves at Moorfield that we are able to provide an environment where pupils can achieve to the very best of their ability whatever their strengths and weaknesses may be. Classwork is differentiated to support those who need a little extra help and challenge the high flyers.

“Should we feel, however, that additional support is required, above and beyond what is routinely offered in the classroom, teachers may choose to place specific children into interventions groups. These are delivered by selected teaching assistants under the instruction of the teacher to address particular areas of difficulty. Children with Dyslexia or Dyslexic type tendencies may be added to the IDL programme for specific spelling and reading intervention.”

Pupils who demonstrate a particular academic gift or a creative or sporting talent are provided with ample opportunity for these gifts to flourish.  All pupils are actively encouraged to take part in extra-curricular sporting activities, performances and competitions to help them discover and grow their talents.
