ISI Inspection September 2024
About Moorfield School
ISI now uses a different approach to inspection reporting, following the introduction of a new inspection framework. We are proud to say that Moorfield met all the Independent School Standards across every category, including academic provision, pastoral care, governance, safeguarding and wellbeing.
Graded judgements such as ‘Excellent’ or ‘Good’ are no longer awarded. Instead, inspections are reported through a detailed narrative. We were delighted that inspectors recognised and celebrated the Moorfield approach to learning and life as a school community.
Highlights from the report include:
- Leaders focus effectively on delivering the school’s aims of fostering kindness, confidence and creativity within a nurturing environment that celebrates individuality.
- Relationships between staff and pupils, and between the pupils themselves, are warm and positive, fostering trust and security.
- The school’s curriculum is interesting and ambitious. Lessons are inspiring and effective. Pupils are motivated learners who are engaged and focused. Teachers support pupils well, providing the right level of challenge, valuable feedback and opportunities for pupils to reflect on their learning.
- An effective assessment and monitoring system promotes academic progress.
- Leaders promote positive behaviour. Pupils are well behaved, polite, kind and respectful.
- A comprehensive PSHE programme teaches essential life skills.
- Leaders prioritise pupils’ welfare.
