Nursery

Nursery 1
Nursery 1 is open to girls aged 2-3 years who can independently visit the toilet.
In order to help the children form friendships and feel comfortable here, initially each girl should attend three mornings per week, although full attendance is also welcomed.
Additional sessions can be easily arranged and added when appropriate.
Nursery 2
Nursery 2 is open to girls who will be 4 years old during the course of the school year.
Nursery 2 girls attend for five mornings per week, and, for a smooth progression into Reception, this is expected to build up to four full days by the summer term. This allows for a broadening of activities and builds up stamina prior to entering Reception.
Vouchers
Nursery Funding is available for all children from the term after their 3rd birthday, continuing to statutory school age. Moorfield participates in this Local Authority Nursery Grant scheme under which up to 5 sessions per week are subsidised, currently by £10 per session, each session being the equivalent of a half day.
Moorfield will apply for the funding on your behalf once you have decided on the number of sessions per week you wish to take up. We also accept children's vouchers which may be paid as part of a salary package from your employer, eg Accord, Busy Bees.
News from the Nursery!
Our topic for Foundation Stage during the Spring/Summer term is Growing.
Not only will we be thinking about our own growth but also observing the growth of flowers, plants, insects and animals. To help us to do this we will follow the life cycle of butterflies and frogs, we will also be observing the growth of baby animals.
We hope to get out and about observing and investigating the growth around us. Our growing topic extends to the outdoors where all six areas of learning are well planned and catered for. The girls will have lots of opportunities to plant pot and re-pot while having fun outside.
Reception girls will end their busy week by going swimming on Friday mornings.
I hope for lots of sunny days to enable us to have a happy, fun time, exploring the outdoors in this investigative topic of growth.
