Physical Education

Andrew McMillan has very kindly put together a slide show of images taken at this year's Moorfield Sports Day.

We were fortunate that the sun decided to shine on us this year and coupled with the wonderful venue at Ben Rhydding Sports Club, we enjoyed a fantastic day.
Congratulations to all our winners, there were some excellent results.
Congratulations to Thrush who last won Sports day in 2006!
Well Done to Senior 6 for all your hard work running the Junior Sports Day.
A very, very big thank you to our amazing parents who not only assisted with the running of the events, but provided a much needed constant stream of refreshments for everyone. Thank you to all the staff for your help and support.

Finally, a special BIG THANK YOU to Sally Heslop who worked so hard on the day (at Junior and Senior Sports Day) and who always organises the parents so efficiently.
It was Sally's last Sports Day and she will be hard to replace.

Here's to next year!

We aim to foster a lifelong interest in being active and healthy through an enjoyable but hardworking approach to learning. Creative, artistic and expressive skills are developed through movement studies of dance and gymnastics.

Sporting activities in the winter months are dominated by netball and hockey alongside basketball, tag rugby and football. During the summer term activities include rounders, tennis, athletics, cricket, orienteering and outdoor pursuits. All the girls from Reception to F4 have swimming lessons throughout the year. Competition is encouraged in house matches and in fixtures against other school teams in netball and rounders from F3 upwards.

Extra curricular activities form a very important part of school life. Our girls regularly and successfully compete in cross-country races within the Wharfedale League. Sports Clubs give further opportunities for development of skills in other games and the chance to work for BAGA gymnastic awards.
