Admissions

Girls can join Moorfield School in any year group at any time of year. We take girls from the age of rising two and a half to eleven years.

Where to begin

The procedure for applying to and entering a school can seem complicated. The following guide is intended to assist those who may be unfamiliar with the processes involved. It is by no means prescriptive and is simply based on the most common approach adopted by prospective parents.

  • Visit our website and/or obtain and study the prospectus.
  • Make a personal visit, with or without your daughter, at a time that is convenient to you. This allows for more personal attention and will include a tour of the School with the Headmistress and the opportunity for a private discussion.
  • Attend an Open Day - these generally occur in October/November and March/April.
  • Submit a Registration Form together with the £30 Registration fee. This will be acknowledged and will ensure that you are kept up to date with any events that might be of interest. Payment of the Registration fee does not in itself guarantee a place at the School.

Provided there is room for your daughter in the appropriate class for her age and there is no apparent reason for the School not to offer a place, we will write with a formal offer of a place at Moorfield School. We will enclose a copy of our Terms and Conditions, an Acceptance Form, and copies of the Parent Handbook which contains many useful pieces of information about the day to day procedures at Moorfield.

In order to reserve a place for your daughter, complete and sign the Acceptance Form and return to the School along with your deposit for £250. On receipt of the Acceptance Form and deposit, we will write to confirm that your daughter has a guaranteed place at Moorfield School. Please note that this deposit is non returnable if your daughter fails to take up her place in Reception. This deposit will be set against your final bill at Moorfield and you will receive a cheque for the balance.
